(OP)
Hello everyone,

I have a question pertaining to opening a Acad 14 file.  All the computers here are on a network (aswell as all the Acad files)  And this particular file, only one computer on the network can open it.  When i try to open it on my computer it crashes, it also crashes all the other PCs for the exception of that one.  It doesn't have any X-refs in it.  Is it a problem with our network or this particular file.
Thanks, any responses would be much appreciated!

RE: opening file

It sounds like a security setting for either the users on
the network or the user for the computer...(try to make
them power users of your network...this might help)

RE: opening file

Here's the problem I had....I could open only the file on my PC, but no one else could.  The problem....The file was created in acad14/mdt3 version.  When I tried to open it with acad14 version (no mdt3), it'd lock up the session.  This delt with creating 2d views from a 3d model.  this may not apply to you.  The solution...updated all PC's with acad14/mdt3 version.  There's something different between the 2 versions of acad14.  Another solution would be to go to autodesk.com and see if there are any patches or solution in their knowledgebase.

RE: opening file

You might try downloading object enablers from autodesk.

RE: opening file

Object enablers will do the trick, but you must have the correct one for the version of AutoCAD you have installed otherwise you could have to uninstall and re-install AutoCAD.
