Pyrolytic graphite for small joint bioimplants

(OP)
Hi:

A little while ago, an exchange was done on the positive merits of using biocompatible pyrolytic graphite in small joint implants.  The exchange concluded that the material is good but concerns over litigation may nix it.  Is this really the case today?  I saw a company MINTEQ makes large amounts. Any body familiar with them?
