Protective Admixtures for Undergourd Precast Concrete

Protective Admixtures for Undergourd Precast Concrete

Protective Admixtures for Undergourd Precast Concrete

(OP)
One of the new products that are available to precast manufacuters is admixtures that prevent the growth microbial induced corrosion.

The corrosion occurs when gas is released do to turbulence in the sewer line.  This gas is a breeding ground for the bacteria that produce the acid that eats the cement paste in the concrete.

The Admixture people claim that there product repeals the bacterica by making the concrete inhabitable.  Now I am sure that it does work, but I am looking for more information.  Does anyone have any practicle information on this topic.  When I say practical, I mean, has anyone used these products, and what kind of success have you had.

Thanks

Eric
