PDMWorks & Documtnation Information Lockup

PDMWorks & Documtnation Information Lockup

I've come across an issue with PDMWorks (through SolidWorks, not the Stand Alone Client).

Working within PDMWorks imbedded in SolidWorks ... If you select a Part file (*.sldprt), click the right-mouse button, then select Document Information, and then select the View tab ... you should (by definition) be able to rotate, scroll, zoom, etc. just like you would if you had opened that file in eDrawings.

Only my system locks up on me and I need to cancel out my session of SW's.  I've only had this issue with Part files, I've tried it with Assembly files, and Drawing files and my system works fine.

The solution I've discovered is just reloading eDrawings.  After that, it works just fine.  Not sure what the bug is, but performing the reload did the trick.

Hope this helps anyone who experienced the same thing.

Cheers ...

What version and SP do you have? You may need to update.
Or your Video Card?

Hi Chris ...

Nope ... version and service pack or video card wasn't an issue.  I'm running SW-06 SP4.0 btw.

As I said, eDrawings needed to be re-installed.  I've already confirmed this my VAR and they seen this already and would have told me to do what I already did.

I didn't say that everybody will be affected by this, I just said that if anybody comes across this issue this might be a solution.

Cheeseburger - when installing SolidWorks SP4.0 did you also download and install the PDM/Works Server and Client SP4.0.

We also had this problem, however it is now solved with SW and PDM/Works SP4.0.
