SW2006 x64 SP4.0 is available for download on the SolidWorks website as an official release.  Supposedly it's compatible with the 32-bit PDM server, SP4.0.  I'll be doing some testing over the next few days, mostly for compatibility, and I'll report back here with the results.

RE: SW2006 x64

The very first answer I would hope to expect is if there is any advantage over the 32 bit version in terms of performance. I will likely build a new 64 bit system but as of now I still anticipate using 32 bit XP   since so few applications take advantage currently.

RE: SW2006 x64

It works very well compared to the SP3.2 (pre) release. I actually had it installed for a week or 2 now. It was available then, on the regular download site, the link said SP3.2, but the actual file contained SP4.0

The actual performance is not better than the 32-bit in my experience, but you have way more headroom in the memory department. Especially cosmos & photoworks benefit from this! (cosmos & photoworks easily use more than 4GB 'RAM').
