Tiling smaller sheets for printing/taping together larger pages

Tiling smaller sheets for printing/taping together larger pages

(OP)
Hi folks,

In AC 2006...

I need to plot a series of drawings to at least four 8.5 x 11 standard sheets in order to have a larger print.  TurboCad has this feature in the Print dialogue, but I don’t use TC any more.  My standard HP home laser printer has the option to do “poster” settings by printing one quarter of the drawing onto four separate sheets, BUT, I must trim a quarter inch off each page in order to get the pages to line up.

I am hoping some one has a suggestion for me… one in which four sheets can be printed and simply taped together without the trimming off edges

Or, how to split the drawing into four equal, exact sections… a viewport for each… then print???  If so, how?

Thank you!

Paul

PainterPaul,

IMHO, I don't think ACAD can split a large sheet. You have to do that manually in the paperspace.

But I would try to make a *.dwf. The Autodesk Express Viewer can split the drawing.
Or, maybe better, plot Your drawing as a *.pdf-file and try to split the sheet with Adobe...

Tested with ADT2004, AA prof., metric.

Thanks Lothar I will look into this option.  TurboCad does this very easily, accept the trimming part.  All of the above of what you speak is new to me, so it will be worth the time for the new learning experience.  I'm familiar with Abobe, however.
Thanks

When I used to have to do this, I would draw an object who's sole pupose was to act as registration marks for when I taped it together.
