Warning SW 2006 SP 4.0EV & Bind Ownership

Warning SW 2006 SP 4.0EV & Bind Ownership

(OP)
If using PDM & have “Bind ownership to SolidWorks read-write / read-only access” checked in admin-tool.

While PDM is turned on and opening an assembly that you have ownership of in PDM, SolidWorks will give you read-only access.
To fix the problem you must turn off PDM and close all drawings and models. Then reopen the assembly. You will now have write access and you can turn PDM back on.

I called our VAR on this and he came up with the idea.

RE: Warning SW 2006 SP 4.0EV & Bind Ownership

Are you sure this is a SP4.0 EV issue? Because I remember having problems like that (needing to do just wat you described), but for me they have not reappeared since the update to SP4.0EV

Does not look like it was a SP 4.0EV issue per my first post. After upgrading I still had the problem.

To fix this problem per our VAR and it worked for me.
1.    In SolidWorks main menu click Tools
2.    Options …
3.    System Options
4.    External References
5.    Un-check the top box, “Open referenced documents with read-only access”
