Third Part Programs

(OP)
Does anyone know of anywhere that I download a third party program for Unigraphics NX3 for free?  I am looking for something that attaches custom symbols to dimensions, I have figured out how to create the custom symbol, it's just not associated with the dimension.  Instead it is it's own free note so if you move the view, the symbol stays where it is.

Thanks

RE: Third Part Programs

UKIDIOT,

Associate the origin of the custom symbol to the desired view, so that when the view moves, the symbol moves with it.

I hope this helps!

That is about 1/2 of what I'm looking for.  I want the symbol to be associated to the dimension.  That way the dimension is associated witht the view, and the symbol to the dimension.

This is easily done without a 3rd party program. Edit the origin of the symbol, use the offset character option (be sure associative is checked), type in the desired offset distances (x,y) and pick the dimension to associate with. Now if your dimension moves, your symbol will go with it. You may have to fiddle with the text alignment options (bottom-left, mid-center, etc) to get the entities to line up appropriately.

I'm still on NX2 at the moment so the details may be slightly different for NX3, but the functionality should still be there.

RE: Third Part Programs

Another alternative is to create a User Defined Symbol, which can then be used the same as a text character.  You could then include the User Defined Symbol with the Appended Text of the dimension.
