Ass'm files saved in another folder...

(OP)
Is there a simple way to move all my assembly files in a separate folder to the root folder of my assembly?
i.e. fasteners, small parts, etc...
For this particular project, I wanted everything in one folder.
I noticed photoworks has an option called 'Pack and Go', but I have a feeling it creates an entirely new assembly and all its components in a separate folder all together.

RE: Ass'm files saved in another folder...

Use SW Explorer to copy the files to where you need them to be, then delete the originals.

RE: Ass'm files saved in another folder...

Open top-level assembly, or preferably the top-level drawing, File > Find References > Copy Files.  This will get all necessary files.  Pack and Go works the same, except that it also copies the rendering materials, scene, etc.  The copied files will be the same files, just in a single location.

My standard response: Use a PDM program. I prefer PDMWorks.

RE: Ass'm files saved in another folder...

This is one situation where using windows explorer will actually work.

Any time an assembly or drawing is opened, it will look in its own folder before looking at the paths of the files.
