Question about beem4 concerning element table
(OP)
How do i get the shear stress for the beams I have made, I have check in the BEAM4’s Item and Sequence Numbers in the help file but it don’t make me any wiser :(.
When i check the help file for BEAM4’s Item and Sequence Numbers, do i only find commando for the bending stress in y and z axis (SBYT, SBZT) not in x have I missed something.
Thank you for any help given!
Kindly Paul-Martin

RE: Question about beem4 concerning element table
You can get shear stress by using the element table.

Sorry ignore my first post something went wrong
But if you will look at the text under the tabel 4.1
SHEARZ goes with IZZ; if SHEARZ = 0, there is no shear deflection in the element Y direction.
SHEARY goes with IYY; if SHEARY = 0, there is no shear deflection in the element Z direction.
Ixx of a beam does not exist naturally.
