Re: Aluminium 7075-T7351

(OP)
We are removing Aluminium 7075-T7351 from a part and we need to heat it up to remove it. What is the maximum temperature we can go to without changing the mechanical properties?

We only need to spend about five minutes at that temperature.

RE: Re: Aluminium 7075-T7351

The aging temperature is 315 °F (160 °C), so you should stay below that.

Cory

RE: Re: Aluminium 7075-T7351

The T7351 temper requires a two-stage artificial aging treatment.  MIL-H-6088H HEAT TREATMENT OF ALUMINUM ALLOYS lists the following:

215 to 235 °F for 6 to 8 hours followed by 315 to 335 °F for 24 to 30 hours.

So the aging temperature changes for this particular temper.
