You might want to check with a local glazing supplier for a source.  They use dessicants for sealed glazing units.  A few years back, I scrounged a couple of pounds of silica gel from a local glazing unit supplier.  If you are looking for a large quantity, they may be able to point you in the direction of a supplier.
