SW Explorer help

SW Explorer help

(OP)
Unfortunately, I only have SW Explorer at this time, no PDM.
I have to move a bunch of parts, assemblies, and drawings that are all located in one folder to several different sub-folders for project organizational purposes. Can I do this with Explorer successfuly? In the past I have renamed parts and assemblies of other projects with Explorer which worked well maintaining the links, but I have never moved files like this before.
Are there any potential issues for me to be aware of from those of you who have done this with SW Explorer before?

I know I should do this with a copy of all the files and not the originals... Again, I'm going from one folder that houses everything to 5 sub folders. The Assembly files themselves will be moved to several sub folders and the part files for all of the assemblies will also be moved, but not necessarily to the same sub folder as the assembly. Sorry if this is confusing.

So I'm hoping that SW Explorer will maintain all the links between assemblies and parts, regardless of where they reside.

RE: SW Explorer help

SW Ex will do it for you. To save some headaches in the future, I strongly suggest getting PDMWorks. Once you learn it and use it, you will wonder why you went without it.

ctopher, I'm confused a little with SW Explorer. I copy assembly 1 and it's children to a new folder. But then I have assembly 2 with some of the same children thats used in assembly 1. When I copy assembly 2 to another folder how does it know where its children are?
Can I just NOT select the "copy children" checkbox but still update the folder path for the children and the path  will be applied to the assembly as it gets copied?
Wow thats a mouth ful...
