I have an assembly that contains many parts, when I selected the "find references..." choice from the file menu the "search results" list is generated. A couple of the items in the list look similar to this

C:\!C A D Work\Job Files\SolidWorks\100_Frame\143-02.sldprt   [Not-Open]

Can anyone explain why a file would say [Not-Open]?
After comparring the files that do and don't say this,I can not find any resaon for this note.

RE: solid works syntax

I believe it's usually suppressed components that show up like that.  Either that or the base component for a derived (mirror, body insert, etc) part.

The part is a sheet metal part. The only item that is suppressed is the flat pattern. There is only one configuration of the part, and the assembly that it exists in has only one configuration and no external references.

RE: solid works syntax

Could also be the part has config's but the config being referenced is not active. i.e. was not the config which was open when the file saved.

cheers

RE: solid works syntax

Lightweight parts also show as [not open]

Thanks for all the responses, it turns out that the part was in a sub assembly in a supressed state and not used anywhere else.
