EQUIVALENT MATERIAL

EQUIVALENT MATERIAL

EQUIVALENT MATERIAL

(OP)
I am looking for equivalent following materials. I have only the French norm (AFNOR). Of course I will accept any norm.
90MCV8
40CMD8

Thanks in advance

RE: EQUIVALENT MATERIAL

90MCV8 is now called 90MnCrV8 according to DIN EN ISO 4957.  It is equivalent to the North American tool steel Type O2 (UNS T31502) according to ASTM A 681.

40CMD8 is similar to the North American tool steel Type P20 (UNS T51620) according to ASTM A 681.  Both of these are commonly used tool steels, and therefore widely available.
