hi,
I'm designing a small structure to support climbing vines.
Does anyone know of a reference for such loads??

wind loads might control

RE: weight of vines / vegetation

about 5 years ago, I designed a "canopy" that was essentially a trellis where vines were planned to grow on the ends and across the top of it for shade and cover.  I did not find any reference for recommended loads.  I used 5 psf gravity for the vines plus the trellis material self-weight.  Also, I included a snow load and checked wind load.
