Press fit assemblies in Ansys DesignSpace

Hello,
Does anyone know how or if Ansys designspace 9 can simulate interference fit of 2 parts, this could either be press fit or shrink fit.
I have had a look and read but cant find it anywhere.

regards

Will

RE: Press fit assemblies in Ansys DesignSpace

Yes it will. You'll need the correct license to be able to use the appropriate options to enable the model to be solved correctly though (initial penetration, for example).

thanks for the pointer, i presume the option that we require would be 'initial penetration'?

RE: Press fit assemblies in Ansys DesignSpace

Yes. It's a contact setup option you need to set ("Include initial penetration" I think is how it is labelled in the options list in Workbench).
