Online esd valve test

(OP)
How online esd valve test with esd positioner can extend offline testing interval? How to make calculations and where to take data from?

RE: Online esd valve test

What industry and regulations apply?  The answer differs among industries.

The testing frequency is among the calculation factors associated with ISA 84.

The US Department of Interior Minerals Management Service recognizes specific standards for testing instruments and controls on offshore platforms.  API RP 14 C identifies the testing frequency for the measurement instruments, etc.  In the appendix section D.2.4 for shutdown devices and control circuit testing, "the entire shutdown or control circuit, including the final shutdown valve or control device, should be tested at least annually."  This may not be the latest revision.  Also partial stroke testing is included in testing procedures.

RE: Online esd valve test

instrum01, are you referring to partial stroke testing and how it can be used to increase the testing interval between "full circuit" testing, and also maintenance intervales.
