Is stress corrosion cracking applicable to carbon steel?
(p.s. I realize this is a newbie question and have spent a few minutes on google - I know the answer is there but couldn't find it so pls don't flame me).

In CS, caustics and sulfides can cause it. In copper alloys ammonia will. You can stress crack Ti with nitrous oxide. And of course, stainless steels with chorides.
Usually we don't talk specifically about SCC, we lump it al together as environmentally assisted cracking. This includes hydrogen effects and even liquid metal embrittlement.
