There have been threads in the past where people were trying to figure out how to locate small mobile devices within a certain area using radio time-of-flight, etc.

The Chipcon CC2431 with a 'Location Engine':

Requires 3 to 8 reference nodes
Range: 64 x 64 meters area
Accuray: ~3m
Resolution: 0.5m
Time to estimate: < 40 µs

Good solution to issues which are commonly posted dealing with Radio / RF / location / position. You should consider doing a FAQ.
