Section view with clipping planes

Section view with clipping planes

(OP)
Is there a way to create a section view with a similar functionality to clipping planes in autocad? What we want to create effectively is a slice through an assembly. A section view and then to not show sub-assemblies beyond a certain point.
I'm pretty sure it's possible in UG NX2 its just my head having a friday morning feeling!

RE: Section view with clipping planes

View --> Operation --> Section

That will create your section through the assembly.  It's dynamic, you can just grab the vector and move it, rotate it, etc.

RE: Section view with clipping planes

You probably want to do this in Drafting mode and I asked a similar question in the past. Check the following thread link below. I'll summarize it here though.

Expand the section view in the drafting application.
Go to Preferences -> Visualiztion and you'll find Clipping plane options on the Perspective Tab.
