Secondary Conductors on 56MVA Transformer

Secondary Conductors on 56MVA Transformer

Secondary Conductors on 56MVA Transformer

(OP)
Hy, we are installing a transformer 69/12.47 kV , 30/56 MVA. The actual design for the secondary conductors is 2- 1750 bare Cu./phase.  1.Has any body knows the availability of this type of conductor?
2. There are some concerns with the weight that will be imposed to the bushings. Any suggestions or experience will be appreciatted.  The length of the conductors should be close to 16 feet.  To take some of the weigth out of the bushings we are suggesting to use angle bus from the L.A. to the conductor's spacer wich will have a 4-hole pad.

RE: Secondary Conductors on 56MVA Transformer

I don't like it. That's a lot of unnecessary weight on the bushings.  Normally a short accordion jumper is used to connect from the bus to the transformer bushing, with very little load applied to the bushings.  As a minimum, I think you need a support at the transformer with the final connection being more or less a vertical jumper.

You should check with xfmr and/or bushing supplier for allowable vertical and horizontal loads allowed on bushing.
