Defining 3-D Sketches

Defining 3-D Sketches

Defining 3-D Sketches

(OP)
I can't get a 3-D sketch to go fully-defined for the life of me ... all is black, I even deleted all relations and fixed everything and still under-defined.

Anyone?

Thank you in advance,
Mike

RE: Defining 3-D Sketches

All is black? Usually blue is under-defined, black is defined.
The 3D sketch needs to be defined in 3 axis. Try drawing const lines to a point then dim it.

I hear you on the constr lines and I get the blue/black convention, but (and although I cant stand using the "fix" relation) it really didnt matter to me that it stay parametric so to make sure I wasnt searching and searching, I fixed everything I could find and still under-defined.  I see no more blue.

I appreciate the reply.

Thanks again,
Mike

RE: Defining 3-D Sketches

Many times with 3D sketches you have to make a sketch entity parallel with a plane.

Thanks for all the input.  I wasnt watching carefully enough, but it was either that I hadnt fixed all the end points or there were 2 3-d planes that I deleted, but now it is fully-defined.  Probably related to what you mention.

Thanks for the help you two ... I appreciate it,

Mike
