In short, no.
The PED is designed to restrict trade, and it does it well.

Corrosion, every where, all the time.
Manage it or it will manage you.

If there's a will there's a way! Ask the manufacturer first. If they can't - Theoreticaly shall be done lot's of mechanical tests required for recertification of materials + Reinspection of Welds. Anyway, it should be sent to their workshop. Case they can't find leftovers of the original material your vessel should look like a patchwork. + PWHT!.  Actualy you'll only pay for these. The only mechanical works will affect a certain plate.
Keep the old one just in case U'll need it back ASME.
- I may recommend you some good willing PED authorised manufacturers around here.
PS.
Case U like playing on the edge,U can order a brand new lablel. (t's larger than the ASME one!) + a nice new book. The result is a brand new fully functional PED equipment + eventualy state accomodation for a couple of years anytime durring equipment's life.

The Pressure Equipment Directive doesn't prescribe what design codes must be used or what materials should be used.

Get a copy of the PED (see the link from marsich above) and look at the Essential Safety Requirements in Annex 1.

Also look through and see if you have to comply and to what Category/Module you must comply.

If you have drawings and calculations you can obtain a design appraisal.

If you have weld procedures you can get them reviewed by someone authorised as described in the PED (note, a notified body can have agents in other countries so talk to some companies that are qualified as notified bodies, list are available at the link above).

Materials can be the obstacle. The quality system of the manufacturer must be approved by someone authorised to do so by the EU (this does not mean a notified body) or their agent.

The manufacturing processes/quality system of the manufacturer may have to be reviewed, it depends on the module being applied.

This is the sort of rubbish we've had to put with for years with ASME and I'm hoping it'll cause that many problems ISO will get ASME and CEN together, give them both a good slap (preferably with a wet trout) and sort this out once and for all.
