DCP tests

(OP)
I've done a DCP and obtained the results and i wanna know if there is a relationship between Density and DCPs. I'm not really looking for straight answers hence the concept was just introduced to me, i'd also appreciate references of the subject at hand.

Try searching the threads by keyword.  There are many threads relating to the DCP.

RE: DCP tests

The DCP correlates with strength.  Remember that you have to fail the soil in order to cause penetration of the probe.  Where the DCP penetrates clay then the penetration is generally governed by the undrained strength of the clay, where it penetrates cohesionless soil like sand then the penetration resistance is governed by the density and the friction angle of the soil (also horizontal earth pressure k0).

RE: DCP tests

jdmm, the DCP doesn't correlate very well to soil strength compared to static cone penetration...
