Though i have never used simtronics, i know quite a bit about HYSYS as my controls professor was one of the creators of the program.  

If you want to know anything about it just reply in this thread.  Hysys is very finicky, it is the definition of a trial and error program.  If you don't know what you are doing  you can spend hours acheiving the simplest simulation.

perhaps you could look into a program called VMG Sim, I found it easier to navigate than hysys as VMG uses microsoft visio layout and controls.  Also VMG sim has more property packages and can simulate more complex systems, it is relatively new.
