Non-CFC Split SystemS Availability

Non-CFC Split SystemS Availability

Non-CFC Split SystemS Availability

(OP)
Dear friends:

Do you know factories as Carrier, Trane, York, etc,  manufacturing split equipment working with refrigerant different to R-22, R-12 or any CFC , in nominal capacities from 3.00 to 15.00 TR?

Thanks,

schola

RE: Non-CFC Split SystemS Availability

They all do R-410A (an HFC) packaged units now, but I don't think that any of the big three are doing split systems in the new stuff yet.

RE: Non-CFC Split SystemS Availability

You can also specify R-407C which is a drop-in replacement for R-22. All the major companies offer it. One warning though, there is an efficiency penalty to pay. An R-407C system will be less efficient that an identical R-22 system.

RE: Non-CFC Split SystemS Availability

One note, no one in the US makes equipment with R12 anymore, it was phased out years ago.  New equipment is R22, R134a, and others that were mentioned above.
