Creating a centroid point in NX3
Creating a centroid point in NX3
(OP)
I'm sure in earlier versions of NX there was an option to generate a point when measuring bodies in analysis, can anyone please help in telling me where they have moved it?
For now I shall have to input the centroid data from the listing window to generate my point.

I'm sure this isn't enough info for you to get it all setup, so I'd strongly suggest reviewing the Documentation for further help. All you need is right there. Look under Gateway -> Analysis -> Mass Using Solids for explanation on the Measure Body command. Search for Materials and Units.

From the pull downs, <Analysis> <Measure Bodies>, (Make sure the WCS Icon is picked on the left side of the dialogue box), pick your solid, and pick the green check... When your puter is done chunking, there will be a csys generated on the centroid.
Hope this helps but I reserve the right to be completely wrong. I've only been driving NX3 a few weeks now, and the interface/dialogs are different than NX2. This being said, I think this will get you where you want to go...

If I read your post correctly, you are actually looking for a 'point' as opposed to a 'CSYS', correct? If so, what you want to do is follow the steps that Shadowspawn listed, BUT where he states "(Make sure the WCS Icon is picked on the left side of the dialogue box)", what you want to do is click on the little down-arrow on the WCS Icon, and click the Icon that looks like a floppy disk. This should change the WCS Icon to the Disk Icon. At this point, make sure that the Disk Icon is selected. Then, perform your selection of the desired model(s).
Note: You will see a pop-up menu over the model that will have a drop-don listing of measurements (Volume, Mass, etc.). You must click on the green check-mark in the dialogue box in order to create the feature that Tim Flater alluded to in his response. The feature will be a point out in space. As Tim stated, that iof the measurement is placed at the end of the Model Navigator, it will update as the model gets revised.
I hope that this helps!

Have followed your steps and hey-presto a point which is associative.
Again thanks to all.
