Any schools teaching SW in LA, CA area?
Any schools teaching SW in LA, CA area?
(OP)
Anyone know of schools (community college, university short course) that have classes in Solidworks that are in the LA area? I'm taking a course for a different program by online which is very nice, but I'd like to find something similar for SW. It would need to be through some school so I can use the student version at home. I suspect few or none would have it as an online course, but that would be what I would like to find.
Thanks
Thanks

The San Dieguito high school at 710 Encinitas blvd in Encinitas Ca., runs an ROP class in Solidworks, the class is open ended and typically runs from June to the following June but you can enroll at any time.It is also free. This may be a bit far for you depending where you live in the La area.

RE: Any schools teaching SW in LA, CA area?
CSULA / CSUN / CSULB / CAL Poly all good schools, with good, engineering programs. I have heard that CSUN teaches 3D on a limited basis, so courses may be full. I have taken CSULA courses, and they are very good. CSULB tends to fill up, and is in LB which is inconvinent, unless you are in Southbay/ I like Cal Poly too, but don't know much about their 3D.
USC, Cal Tech, LMU - not worth the ROI, hard to take coursework unless you are an enrolled student... if they offer open enrollment courses, it would be very limited.
The community colleges are really hit and miss about swx. I have heard that the best one is college of the canyons in Santa Clarita, but that's all haul unless you live way up north. These courses will be taught as part of a drafting series, but will be a good introduction to modeling and whatnot, but will not talk about engineering.
I recomend the one at Art Center, but NOT as a beginner course... their course is really a course in Rapid Prototyping, and after you get a handle on SWx, it'll be well worth the pricetag (which isn't cheap by any stretch of the imagination).... by all means take this course, but not as an intro...!
