I was told you should not weld structual members in a
fatige test facility, but have been not been given a reason.  These are test facities for the testing of large articals such as aircraft.

from my experience with test facilities, i'davoid welding the rig together out of concern for how the rig will deform.  i'd bolt the thing together.
