Do anyone came across hot tapping of lines in hydrocarbon services please explain

RE: hot tapping

I "come across them" in hydrocarbon service all the time.  You'll have to expand on your question to get any meaningful answers.

RE: hot tapping

"Hot tapping" is perforation of a line under pressure.  Some people will say the "hot" applies to the line in service; others will say that the "hot" refers to the welding associated with attaching facilities for the perforating equipment and isolation etc.
