Video card driver/Nvidia FX1400

Video card driver/Nvidia FX1400

(OP)
Just installed a new system which has an FX1400 Nvidia card.  The driver that came with the system is 8.1.6.7.  I downloaded a "new" driver recommended on the SW site (driver 7.1.8.4)..... and when I went to update the driver the "install wizard says the driver I currently have is the latest driver and would not let me update to the 7184 (keeping the system with the 8167 driver).

Any suggestions, comments or Help???  running windows XP/2002 service pack 2

thanks.

John

RE: Video card driver/Nvidia FX1400

Leave the 81.67 driver. The CAD vendors are usually 2-3 driver revs behind in their certifications. 81.67 is newer than the driver certified for Pro/E and I am running it all of my Wildfire 2 M160 workstations without problems.

RE: Video card driver/Nvidia FX1400

You may only need to replace the 8167 driver if you are having problems with SW. If you do need to replace it you will need to uninstall it first. See FAQ559-1194.

Thank you both for the follow up.  I will install SW today and see how the driver performs.  thanks again.

RE: Video card driver/Nvidia FX1400

Forgot to mention before ... if you are running SW06 you may experience some problems no matter what driver you use.

thanks for the follow up CBL... yes, I've been following that topic (other post) as well.  I'll keep the 8167 driver and see how it performs.

Thanks

I'm curious to see, too (of course).

For those with dual core cpu's the newer 8x.xx series drivers contain a lot of updates to improve stability & performance on your cpu's. The latest WHQL Quadro driver (for win32 that is):
