Efficient way of preparing Erection and shop/fabrication drawing

hello engineers

can any one suggest me some way of preparing shop drawing for lattice steel towers efficiently ? currently we are doing it manually using simple CAD software. problem is, if any change is demanded by client, then it creats extra hassel to track changes.

thanks in advance

RE: Efficient way of preparing Erection and shop/fabrication drawing

Can you be more clear? Are you trying to do it in SolidWorks? Or do you want to know in general?

Excuse me sir, but this is a professional forum and topics on preparing erections should not be discussed here!

All kidding aside, move up to Solidworks to make your life a little easier.

we are doing this work manually using autocad.

i am thinking about "Xsteel 8.2". i don't know from where i can start learning xsteel.

anyway thanks for the suggestion of "solidworks". can it perform automations?

RE: Efficient way of preparing Erection and shop/fabrication drawing

mce98 ... this is the SolidWorks 3D CAD products forum. You may have better responses by posting to the Autodesk: AutoCAD Forum forum555 or Structural engineering other topics Forum forum507.

Some functions of SW can be automated. It depends what level of "automations" you require.

cheers
