How do I find out the maximum thickness in a model

How do I find out the maximum thickness in a model

How do I find out the maximum thickness in a model

(OP)
I am creating a part by limiting it between two surfaces. Is there any tool that may help me find out the maximum and minimum material thickness of the part?

RE: How do I find out the maximum thickness in a model

Measure Between and pick both surfaces. Customize the results to get Max and Min. (I just tried it, and I could choose either Max or Min, but not both at same time?)

Hi,

As Jack said Measure between is one solution, it is available with FSS or FSO licences in FreeStyle Workbench.

Check Online Doc.

Additionally, if you want to take a maximum thickness in a known plane, you can offset the geometry past the second set of geometry, (to the opposite side of it) and take your measurement in the reverse direction.  The "minimum" distance using that method, reveals your maximum distance at the same point, to the original geometry.

Hard to explain, and probably harder to visualize - but I could never (and still cannot) get the "maximum distance" feature to work properly in V5.  It's one of the top 10 things that I miss from V4.
