Is there a way to create a disk containing a group assembly file in such a way that an unauthorized person cannot open the file?

I sometimes use password protected ZIP files. But they can still be cracked by a motivated individual.
There are some commercially available file/drive encrypters, but like anything else, they aren't 100% secure.

You need Intralink or other PLM sofware, don't you think?

Anytime you take data from your data vault you run the risk that it may fall into the wrong hands.....just like the words I'm typing can be used against me surprise
