Old Program

Has anyone ever used a program called Analytix? Is there a newer program that will replace this old dinosaur?

Thanks

Jeff

RE: Old Program

I have used it. I don't know if there are any recent releases but here is their web site. The demo and/or manual might give a clue as to any advancements.

Thanks, but i use this program a lot but looking for something newere. They dont support this program anymore and im having lots of errors and need help.

RE: Old Program

You could look at Working model 2d (which may still exist), or Nastran4D, which may give you a heart attack.

Both should be available from www.msc.com

N4D is based on Working Model 3d which was gob-smackingly good, and for which there was a 5 body demo which was rather useful.

Alternatvely take a big step back in usability and look at freecad from www.askoh.com

What sort of problem are you trying to analyse?

RE: Old Program

You should take a look at Camlinks from www.camlinks.com/downloads.htm

It does cams, and any 2D linkages, (as the name suggests I guess) etc, and calculates forces and torques one you edit thee parts for mass, radius of gyration etc.  You can drop in gears also if you want.  I've used it a lot so if you need any help...
