When modelling AASHTO box beams in LEAP Soft's Conspan LA, is there a means to model a mix of adjacent and spread box beams?  For instance, I'd like to split the facia beams a few feet to accomodate utilities, and leave all the interior beams abuting each other.  The analysis results from Conspan differ greatly as it seams only one live load distribution factor is permitted to be applied to all beams.  Does anyone know if Conspan can apply more than one distribution factor to specified beams??

Thanks - Lee A.

RE: Conspan LA

I would suggest you contact LEAP Software directly with your question.

RE: Conspan LA

Seems to me you are looking at a RR bridge?. I'm pretty sure that the program can handle different spacings with different girders but I don't know about the DF's. Leap will make special runs for you but I'm sure you'll have to pay.

Nope, not an RR bridge.  Here's what LeapSoft replied:

"Thank you, for your e-mail...

When you change from spread box to adjacent box option, the only thing which changes internally is distribution factor. So if you intend to mix adjacent box and spread box then note down distribution factors for spread box and adjacent box. Enter distribution factors manually for
corresponding girders.

OR

You may do two runs. One with adjacent box and second with spread box options."
