Pump-down cutout setpoint

Pump-down cutout setpoint

Pump-down cutout setpoint

(OP)
Hi,
what is the pump-down cutout setpoint,is it the low pressure cutout,in other hand, can we go lower than that setpoint to be sure that there is no liquid exist on the start-up of the cmpressor, because we have an old trane chiller using the low-pressure cutout setpoint for the pump-down process.

thanks alot.

RE: Pump-down cutout setpoint

old tranes i believe used 25 psig for the pump down , at this pressure there will be no liquid in the evap.and as any liquid boils off the pressure switch will reenergize the compressor and pump the vapor out.
