How do you manage work effort as compared to duration

How do you manage work effort as compared to duration

How do you manage work effort as compared to duration

(OP)
I like to put start and end dates on each task, thinking about how many days I am giving a resource to complete a task.  I although do not know how to input the work effort it will take to complete the task during the duration. Please help as I need to do a resource risk analysis and dont know how to get started.

RE: How do you manage work effort as compared to duration

If you have a single person working full-time, then every 8hrs of work is equivalent to a single day's duration.

However, if you have more than one person working a job, then the hours are doubled, or, if you only have a 1/2 head on the job, then the hours are only 1/2.

Also, if that 1/2 person is working 1/2 time on a different task, then your resource page will show his correct loading.

Thanks thats where I am trying to get.  I am not sure where to input the work hours. Could you detail the correct way to input the work hours.  Sorry for being novice at this.
