How can I purchase the complete training manual for SW2006, issued by SolidWorks Corporation?
I need to get training manuals for SolidWorks Essentials (parts, assembly, and drawings), Advanced part modeling, and Advanced assembly modeling.
Any input would be appreciated!

Uka

RE: Training manuals from SolidWorks Corporation.

Unless you know someone or are lucky with eBay, the only way to get the manuals is probably to take the courses.

RE: Training manuals from SolidWorks Corporation.

Jeff is correct.
Sometimes, if you're lucky, you may find someone that doesn't want older versions anymore ... but is rare.
The only other way is to order a SW book from a 3rd party.

Have you tried contacting SW directly? ... or a VAR?

Thank you, Jeff and Chris!

No, I haven't contacted SW directly yet.  I actually have one set of training manuals from the courses I took several years ago.  But VP wants me to get newer versions for new team members.... I will contact them.

RE: Training manuals from SolidWorks Corporation.

I was able to buy them from my VAR last year.  I bought the annimator and photoworks books directly from them.  They werent very cheap either!

RE: Training manuals from SolidWorks Corporation.

I was able to get all the manuals I requested, including each of the ones you mentioned from my VAR for SW2005 with no problems. Of course they encourage you to take the training but if you've ever gone to training you know that they follow the outline of the books almost word for word.

RE: Training manuals from SolidWorks Corporation.

I asked my VAR and they said that I would have to take the course. So, I did as CBL suggested and contacted SolidWorks and they told me to contact my VAR that they would be able to tell if the SW2005 training manuals were available. Then I send a rely back to SolidWorks stating that the VAR are not to sell the Training manuals for the current version of SW as far as I know.  But, how about the SW2005 version?  I have not got an answer back but, I hopefully should have one on Monday from SolidWorks.  One Training Manual I would like to get is the File Management one but the course is not available in Canada.  I have seen it on eBay from England.  I was wondering if I could get sbaugh's  option because he works/has worked for an VAR I think.  Thank you.

RE: Training manuals from SolidWorks Corporation.

From what I've understood you either have to take the class or be a certified instructor.

I didn't know there was a course for SolidWorks File Management. Do you mean PDMW?

RE: Training manuals from SolidWorks Corporation.

Neither SolidWorks nor any VAR will sell the training manuals for the current version (2006). But they will sell training manuals for the previous version(s) if they are available. Usually the price is $100 per manual.

RE: Training manuals from SolidWorks Corporation.

If you get the "What's New" manual with new releases, the prior release manuals are usually a great addition.

RE: Training manuals from SolidWorks Corporation.

If you would settle for 2005 manuals you will probably get them on ebay. 2006 would be rare.
