plugmold
plugmold
(OP)
Does anyone know if plugmold (wiremold) is available with gfci receptacles? as well as plugmold suitable for wet locations? I tried contacting a couple of manufacturers of plugmold but did not have much luck.

RE: plugmold
RE: plugmold
I've seen such things on hair dryers at hotels.
RE: plugmold
The problem is that most GFI plugs are quite large. They almost fill the junction box. The receptacles in plug mold are barely wider than the plug blades. There just isn't room in plug mold to install anything but the special narrow plugs that come with it.
A GFI breaker at the panel as per davidbeachs post is the way to go.

RE: plugmold
I meant the plug as in the plug on the end of the appliance's cord (not the wall socket device in the junction box).
RE: plugmold
I have seen GFCI built in a plug or short extension cord with clear silicon-rubber covers over the test/reset for splash resistance and marketed by boating supply companies.
