Stoffel Polygon

Stoffel Polygon

(OP)
I need to machine the male end of a polygon shaft coupling on the end of a shaft about 25" long. The length of the polygon is 1". Anyone have any knowledge of the type and cost of a machine to do this? Perhaps a cam grinder?

Thanks,

Bob Farmer

RE: Stoffel Polygon

I used a company to do that for me, I think you will be getting into big bucks. How many etc.? Are you repairing or modifying?

RE: Stoffel Polygon

Aside from the above questions you didn't state whether you had a straight or tapered polygon.  The first website is the machine that grinds the polygons.

The second site had a tool that can do some polygons.

The other two are shops that produce polygon components.

As stated above these machines are very expensive even in the used and wore out state.  No price on this one but I've seen others on the surplus market for $20,000 and up.

Thanks for the links. General polygon and stoffel polygon seem to be the only people this side of the big water.

It is a straight P-3 polygon.
