C3D15 and C3D20R elements

C3D15 and C3D20R elements

Hi all,

I am just wondering if someone is working with element C3D15 or C3D20R, could these elements create some problem for extracting stiffness and mass matrices ?
Thank you.

Alain

RE: C3D15 and C3D20R elements

Alain,
Try to be more specific in your question. You might get an answer then. What are you thinking of in particular? Have you got a specific problem that arises in the use of these elements?

The problem is that I am working with a structure with these two kind of elements. I know how to extract mass and stiffness matrices from an .inp file with Abaqus but if it doesn't work with these elements so I think these elements are incompatible with the Abaqus keywords "Element Matrix Output" ...

In one .inp file, if I create this file just for extracting the matrices, with a simple structure and other elements, I will get my matrices. If I just change the geometry definition (nodes, elements ...) I won't get the matrices anymore

I am wondering if someone is using these elements for an analysis and if it was possible to extract mass and stiffness matrices.
Thank you !

It's not a question I can answer, but you might find more replies now you have given more details.
Good luck.
