CATIA V5: problems with text thickness in drawings

CATIA V5: problems with text thickness in drawings

(OP)
I am using CATIA V5, revision 10.  In some drawings the text randomly swithces to some type of bold print, like the thickness is incorrect.  However, upon checking the text properties I cant find anything wrong.  This only shows up on a printed copy of the drawing or in print preview mode.  This happens to any type of text, in dimensions, in drawing notes and in the format.  I used the administrator login to customize my standards, but its not very extensive - I dont know if that has anything to do with the text problem.  In V4 when this happens its because a standard is changed on a certain piece of text; it is easy to check, it shows up as an increased thickness in the graphic properties of the text.  However, it is not random like the problem Im having in V5 and it is easy to check, in V5 nothing looks incorrect in the text properties.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Upgrade to a new version.  V5R10 is 3 years old.  R16 is the current, but I suspect most of us are at R14 or R15.

I would love to upgrade, looking into it now.  But if you think V5r10 is old.....I still use V4 at work every day.

RE: CATIA V5: problems with text thickness in drawings

V4 being old is nothing.  It's still being supported for maintenance (not development) by Dassault.  Lots of world class companies still use V4.

V5R10 is a different story, however.  And if you can't upgrade, then I suspect that you aren't using legitimately licensed software, or you've let your maintenance die.  In either case, that would be to your own misfortune, because R10 is not a supported release anymore.  There's no need to "upgrade" Catia software - it doesn't really work that way.
