Laser Etching/Engraving

(OP)
Can anyone tell me of a proven off the shelf laser etcher or engraver that can mark SS credit card sized product tags I am looking to replace an old embossing machine and would like to speed the process up and laser seems like it might be a viable alternative, the only concern is if the tag discolors how well will you be able to see the mark? how deep can you etch?

RE: Laser Etching/Engraving

Lots of quality laser mfg's make marking products. Two that come to mind are Rofin-Sinar and Excel/Control Laser. I used to be employed by Rofin and I have worked on some old Control Laser Yags. I have since heard that Control was purchased by Excel and they have focused ( no pun) on marking systems.

Hope this helps.

In a hundred years, it isn't going to matter anyway.

RE: Laser Etching/Engraving

Try PTG industries. We have one of their laser marking machines. I am now sold on fiber lasers.

I would try BeamDynamics LMC.  www.beamdynamics.com

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time.
