RE: Power Transfomer Testing Instruments

Is this inhouse testing or field testing ?
Routine testing or predictive maintenance testing ?
 I mean, please specify.

This is for field Testing.
If you can provide both routine and predictive
I will appreciate it very much.

RE: Power Transfomer Testing Instruments

You will need a megger (Voltage depends on the transformer), a TTR, a winding resistance test test, a power factor test set, a microohmeter and oil sampling equipment(if oil filled). You will probally spend close to $100,000 on the equipment (new).

RE: Power Transfomer Testing Instruments

Zogzog is right on with his equipment suggestions.  You mentioned that you are looking for specific brands.  We use the following:

Megger:  AVO (as he said voltage depends on transformer)

TTR:  Biddle

Winding Resistance:  AVO

Power Factor:  Doble M4000

Microohmeter:  Biddle

Thank you very much from you replies..
If you know other Brands, just please send it to me.

RE: Power Transfomer Testing Instruments

A quick point to remember:

Make sure the test instruments u get use test methods and specs. etc per your relevent country standard. Also get the instruments with a cal. sticker.

Google your test requirement. There are expensive test sets and economical ones too. Like AEMC, Vanguard. Visit their websites
