Welders in Mines

(OP)
Hello all...

This one goes out to all you mine power systems....

Typically, we install welding feeders with crouse hinds welding receptacles.  The circuit consists of a Series C 60A breaker and a startco gfgc relay (GC not used) feeding the Crouse Hinds receptacle enclosure made up of a fused disconnect and receptacle.  All of this is usually installed on a central unit (not running cables anywhere... well except to the welder...).

Is this mandatory, or can we get rid of the fused disconnect and just have the breaker/relay feed the receptacle?

Regards,
TULUM
