optical resin?

optical resin?

optical resin?

(OP)
Hi,

I'm working with a blend of wax and solvent, and as the solvent evaporates, the wax returns to its natural, tacky self, with a melt point of about 135 degrees. I'm looking to ensure that the wax will not melt, and also will not loose the peculiar optical characteristics the wax possesses, and was thinking that I could blend a resin into the wax/solvent mixture to ensure a harder, less "melt prone" surface.

Do you have any advice as to a commercially available product that I could purchase and use in this manner? I have read that EVA's (ethyl-vinyl acetate copolomers) would be ideally suited for this purpose, but am not familiar with proper suppliers.

I am in the US.

Thanks for all who respon...

Jim

RE: optical resin?

Here are four different approaches to resolving your problem.   You may not be able to modify your present system and if not you may be able to purchase a system with similar optical properties.
I've worked with all these companies on several ocassions and each time resolved some problems.  There is one hell of bunch of wax and wax products out there.
