We are using 2006. A customer wants us to send them a model in 2005 format. Can this be done? I don't see any such option.

Dude, I wish it could be done - can't - not that I know of.  Parasolid, that's your best bet.  Unless you have an old computer at work with SW 2005 on it.

SW can not save back to old versions.
As Nella95 suggested, save as parasolid.
