exporting curve data to dwg

exporting curve data to dwg

Here's what I've been trying to do:

I have a sweep defined by a composite curve of 2D sketches. It's of a brake line that we would like to get CNC bent. The suppliers want X,Y,Z coordinates of the tangent edges and bent centerpoints. I can't figure out a good way to get this table of data into the drawing smoothly. I messed around with the design table, but didn't have much luck, as i can't seem to access the reference points that I inserted into the model. I've actually got a macro working pretty well now that will capture the data from the reference points in the model and export to an excel file, and then that excel file is inserted as a linked object into the drawing, so all is good EXCEPT I have to remember to re-run the macro anytime the sketches are changed, or more importantly OTHER people who access the model would have to know that. My first question:

Is there a way to get this macro "into" the model file so that it automatically runs when the file is saved/closed/regenerated/whatever? Seems like that would be the easiest solution considering how far down that path I am

Second Question:
Waht would've been a more intelligent way to do it?

RE: exporting curve data to dwg

Could you just show your sweep path sketch in your drawing views?  Then it's always updated.

Reason trumps all.  And awe trumps reason.

I suppose, but it seems like there is still the difficulty of dimensioning a fairly involved 3D sketch in a way that's easy to understand on a piece of paper. That's why I wanted the table of point data.
